In response, we are introducing The AEC Leadership Blueprint.

The AEC Leadership Blueprint is an executive roundtable series designed to bring together leaders across architecture, engineering, and construction for thoughtful, high-level dialogue.

Hosted by James Wilkson, each session is a curated, invite-only experience held in a virtual, intimate setting. This is not a webinar or a presentation, but a space for open conversation among peers navigating similar challenges.

The focus is simple: create meaningful discussions that go beyond surface-level insights and reflect the realities of leadership today.

What the Series Will Explore

Each session will center on the key themes shaping AEC leadership, including succession planning, talent strategy, company culture, and the future of the workforce. As the industry continues to evolve, conversations will also explore how firms are developing the next generation of leaders and building teams that are both strong and sustainable.

The goal is to provide relevant, practical insight that leaders can take back into their organizations.

While grounded in executive-level strategy, the series brings together individuals at different stages of their careers. Senior leaders, mid-level professionals preparing for leadership, and emerging talent will all have a seat at the table.

Launching with a Critical Conversation

The series will begin with Succession Planning: Leading Through the Transition, a discussion focused on one of the most important and often delayed leadership decisions.

This session will explore how to identify the right successor before you’re ready, navigate the psychological weight placed on incoming leadership, and ensure a smooth transition that protects both continuity and legacy. It will also address the financial risks of getting succession wrong and the importance of approaching this process with intention.

The goal is to challenge leaders to think about succession proactively, treating it as a present responsibility rather than a future task.
